All skilled visas are for highly skilled people.  There is a set of Basic Requirements which must be met for this category.

The available categories are:

• Skilled Independent Visa - for highly-skilled people who do not have/choose not to be sponsored by an Australian Employer or relative
• Skilled State/Territory Nominated Independent - for highly skilled people who are willing to settle in States and Territories where their skills are in demand
• Skilled Designated Area Sponsored - for highly skilled people who have skills and an Australian relative living in a designated area of Australia who is willing to sponsor them
• Skilled - Australian Sponsored - for highly skilled people who have an Australian relative who is willing to sponsor them.
